Bel Ami is no more. The high-end restaurant and lounge was one of several dining options in Eugene's Midtown Marketplace.
In addition to cuisine, Bel Ami was also known for its creative cocktail list, in part due to former bar manager Jeff Morgenthaler, who blogs on mixology. Morgenthaler left Bel Ami earlier this year for Portland's Clyde Commons.
According to the Midtown Market manager, "Jeff got a little too clever with his cocktails. The Morgenthaler mojito had a shot of Jeff's REDACT in it. We are facing three lawsuits about that and about a half dozen lawsuits by women who were sexually harassed by him. As part of the settlement with one of the very angry mojito drinkers, we agreed to close Bel Ami."
